Jewelbox Theater at The Rendezvous
65-seat proscenium theater restored to its original 1932 condition, housed within The Rendezvous bar and restaurant. Seattle's historic Film Row screening room turned performance space for comedy, burlesque, cabaret, music, theater, and film.
History: The Rendezvous opened in 1926-1928 and was the social epicenter of Seattle's Film Row, hiding a speakeasy in the basement during Prohibition. The Jewelbox Theater was created in 1932 by B.F. Shearer (founder of B.F. Shearer Company, theater furnishings supplier) as the original MGM screening room. Restored to its original 1932 condition, it features professional PA, stage lighting, and performance stage. One of Seattle's most historically significant small performance spaces.
