McCaw Hall
Home of Seattle Opera and Pacific Northwest Ballet
History: Originally opened in 1928 as the Seattle Civic Auditorium, later becoming the Seattle Opera House. Underwent a $127 million renovation (LMN Architects) reopening June 28, 2003 as Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, named for the mother of cell phone pioneer Craig McCaw, whose family donated $20 million. The project secured $55 million in public funds and over $72 million in private philanthropic gifts.
